How long has Miller Home Improvements been in business?

We opened our doors in 2003, but our remodeling roots extend much further back. Owner Arlen Miller comes from a family of remodelers and builders. His grandfather was an Amish builder and his father has been in construction since the 1970s. At age 14, Arlen performed his first complete project by himself by installing siding on a new 2 story home. With Miller Home Improvements, you get remodeling expertise and passion that has roots in over a half century ago. Can you help me design my project?

Yes! We specialize in unique, amazing designs. Our design process delivers exactly what you want (for the budget you want), while greatly reducing the need for changes during the actual construction. This also eliminates the need for you to hire an architect and a construction company separately—we have ALL of the resources you need to complete your project. Visit our Breathtaking Design page to see some examples of our unique projects.

Will you complete my project all at once, or skip around between multiple jobs?

While we manage multiple jobs at once, we keep that number small in order to dedicate the time and attention to your project that it deserves. In addition, we accommodate to your schedule—even if you can only do weekends.

Do I need to move out of my house while you remodel it?

In most cases, no. It’s true that remodeling is inconvenient and sometimes messy. But we do everything in our power to keep the mess to a minimum, the project on schedule, and the actual construction time as short as possible. There are instances in which it is in everyone’s best interests that some of the work be performed while you are not living in your home. This usually occurs with very large-scale projects such as whole-house remodels. We determine this on a case by case basis and discuss it with you up front before we begin work.

Where are you on the pricing scale? Low? Average? High?

We’re usually in the middle. You definitely can find contractors who will quote less—and we won’t even try to match them in most instances. You can also find the companies who will charge you an outrageous price to boost their bottom line. We’re in the “sweet spot”—we charge what it takes to do the job RIGHT. Not one cent less or more.

How can I be sure I will get a quality job at a fair price?

It all comes down to a contractor’s reputation. Make sure the contractor has a ton of happy clients who love that contractor’s work. Perform your due diligence and make sure the contractor can provide you with testimonials and references. Once you find that a company is trustworthy, the rest falls into place. If you’d like to see some of our own testimonials or contact some references, visit the Reputation section of this website.

What is your stance on sales pressure?

At Miller Home Improvements, sales pressure is strictly prohibited. We believe in educating our customers on the best solution for their situation and budget—not trying to get them to buy everything plus the kitchen sink (unless, of course, they need a new kitchen sink). If you want to know more about our aversion to sales pressure, read our Service Experience page.

How can I be sure I will get what I want?

Through a combination of resourceful design, superb craftsmanship, and our accommodation to change orders. We don’t consider the job done until it’s done the way YOU want it. Period. Our job is to take your remodeling dreams and make them reality.

What about the workers who will be in my home every day?

We hire people that we would trust in our own homes and around our own families. Our workers are a close-knit group of craftsmen we’ve worked with for years. They’re experienced, professional, and polite. Their goal is to ensure your project is done right the first time, while providing a pleasant, low-stress remodeling experience. They are friendly, personable people with a true passion for the craft. Visit our Workmanship page for more details.
